Reaction Steps

To a solution of compound 1i (1.03 g, 3.37 mmol) in CH3CN (7 mL) was added MeI (0.84 mL, 13.46 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction was concentrated and the residue was washed with Et2O/hexanes to afford compound 1j (1.48 g). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3): δ 10.44 (s, br, 1H), 7.65 (s, 1H), 7.31 (m, 3H), 7.23 (m, 1H), 5.02 (m, 2H), 4.31 (s, 3H), 3.98 (m, 2H), 3.04 (m, 2H).
