Reaction Steps

A solution compound 20b (230 mg, 0.58 mmol), and LiOH.H2O (98 mg, 2.33 mmol) in THF/H2O (10/10 mL) was stirred at 45° C. for 8 h. The resulting mixture was concentrated and diluted with water. The water layer was acidified with 1N aqueous HCl to pH˜4 and extracted with CH2Cl2. The organic solution was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give compound 20c (206 mg), which was used in the next reaction without further purification. MS m/z (M+H+) 253.1.
