Reaction Steps

A flask charged with (S)-3-methyl-1-(4-nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)pyrrolidine (1 g, 3.646 mmol) and palladium (100 mg, 0.9397 mmol) was flushed with N2 followed by evacuating under vacuum. Methanol (10 mL) was added under inert atmosphere followed by evacuating under vacuum. The reaction placed under an atmosphere of hydrogen and the reaction was stirred overnight. Pd/C was removed by filtration and solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give (S)-4-(3-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-(trifluoromethyl)aniline (850 mg, 95%) MS 245.0 m/z (MH+).
