1.065 g lithium hydroxide monohydrate was added to 2.003 g methyl 4-(2-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-8-yloxy)-4-fluorophenylamino)-5-methylthieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate (cpd.19.1) in 100 ml THF and 60 ml water. After stirring at rt overnight the reaction mixture was quenched by 2 M aq. HCl and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting aq. layer was filtered. The filtercake was dried and triturated with MeOH:Et2O 20:1 to give the desired compound.
