tert-Butyl 2-(4-(2,3-diphenyl-7,8-dihydropyrido[2,3-b]pyrazin-5(6H)-yl)butoxy)acetate (step 4)(20 mg, 0.042 mmol) in DCM (0.5 ml) was treated with TFA (0.5 ml, 6.49 mmol) and stirred at RT for 1 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the crude product was dissolved in DCM (with <10% MeOH) and basified with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution. The organic portion was separated and the aqueous was extracted with 10% MeOH/DCM. The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound;
