Reaction Steps
To a solution of tert-butyl 4-hydroxypiperidine-1-carboxylate (5.03 g, 0.0250 mol, Aldrich Cat. No. 495484) in methylene chloride (50 mL) were added methanesulfonyl chloride (2.03 mL, 0.0262 mol, Aldrich, Cat. No. 471259) and triethylamine (3.66 mL, 0.0262 mol) at 0° C. The solution was stirred at r.t. overnight, then diluted with ethyl acetate, and washed with NaHCO3 aqueous solution and brine successively. The organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and then concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the desired product which was directly used in next step. LCMS (M+Na)+: m/z=302.3.
