To a solution of 2-allyl-1-(benzo[b]thiophene-3-carbonyl)-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester Intermediate 197 (1 eq.) in MeOH was added Pd/C (0.2 eq.), the flask was evacuated and backfilled with H2. The reaction was stirred for 15 h at 20° C. under atmospheric pressure. The crude was filtered through a pad of celite and washed with EtOH and EtOAc. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 1-(benzo[b]thiophene-3-carbonyl)-2-propyl-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester.
