0.42 g (2.4 mmol) of N-bromosuccinimide is added, under a nitrogen atmosphere at ambient temperature, to a solution of 0.67 g (2.4 mmol) of methyl 2-amino-5-(imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-ylcarbonyl)benzoate in 20 ml of dichloromethane. After stirring for 2 h 30, water is added. The precipitate formed is filtered off, rinsed with water, and dried overnight at 40° C. under reduced pressure. 0.77 g of a yellow solid is obtained.
