Reaction Steps
0.1 ml (1.2 mmol) of mesyl chloride is added, at 0° C. under an inert atmosphere, to 0.25 g (0.4 mmol) of 6-[(1-aminoimidazo(1,5-a)pyridin-3-yl)carbonyl]-3-propylquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione in 5 ml of pyridine. After the addition of methanol, the reaction medium is concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is taken up with dichloromethane. The organic phase is washed with a 1N aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid and then with water, dried over sodium sulphate, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is recrystallized while hot from methanol, purified on a silica gel frit, elution being carried out with DMF. 0.057 g of an orange solid is obtained.
