To a mixture of 5 (0.110 g, 0.34 mmol) in acetone (4.2 mL) 2 N hydrochloric acid (1.7 mL) was added at rt and the mixture was stirred for 16 h. The reaction mixture was then concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue is purified by preparative reverse phase HPLC providing 7 as a white solid (46% yield).
