A mixture of 53 (0.170 g, 0.527 mmol) in dichloromethane (4 mL) was added with Dess-Martin periodinane (0.270 g, 0.632 mmol) and stirring was maintained for 4 h at rt. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of celite and then concentrated to dryness. The residue so obtained was purified by silica gel column chromatography, using gradients of ethyl acetate in hexanes as eluent, to obtain the desired compound. Yield 77%.
