Reaction Steps
To a solution of the product from Step A (511 mg, 1.66 mmol) in 10 mL of chloroform at 0° C. was added N-bromosuccinimide (296 mg, 1.66 mmol). After 30 minutes, the solution was concentrated in vacuo. The resulting product was purified by silica gel chromatography (3-4% MeOH/CH2Cl2) to provide the desired product.
