Reaction Steps
To a solution the product from Step A (858 mg, 2.89 mmol), N-tert-butoxycarbonylpiperazine (540 mg, 2.89 mmol), and 1-hydroxybenzotriazole hydrate (546 mg, 4.05 mmol) in 4 mL of dimethylformamide was added 1-(dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (718 mg, 3.75 mmol). After 30 minutes, the reaction was poured into EtOAc and washed with water, 3N HCl solution, saturated NaHCO3 solution, and brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The product was isolated as a white foam which was used without further purification.
