Procedure
2.36 g of benzyl N-(4-methylpiperazin-1-ylcarbonyl)glycinate are added, at 20° C., under an argon atmosphere, to 0.15 g of 5% palladium on carbon in suspension in 100 cm3 of methanol. After stirring for 2.5 hours at 22° C., under 1.6 bar of hydrogen, 50 cm3 of water are added and the mixture is filtered on Clarcel. The cake is washed with three times 70 cm3 of water at 60° C. The filtrate is then concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure (2.7 kPa) at 50° C. The residue is dried under reduced pressure (2.7 kPa) at 50° C. to give 1.5 g of N-(4-methylpiperazin-1-ylcarbonyl)glycine.
