Methyl 2-(3-(bromomethyl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxylate (70 mg, 0.2 mmol) and dimethylamine (50 mg, 1.6 mmol) were added to ethanol (30 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The resulting mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure to obtain methyl 2-(3-((methylamino)methyl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxylate (80 mg, yield 76%). LC-MS (ESI) m/z 297 [M+1]+.
