Methyl 2-(4-methoxyphenylbenzo[d]oxazole-4-carboxylate (68 mg, 0.24 mmol) in ammonium water (10 mL) was stirred at 30° C. overnight, then filtered, and the cake was washed with water, dried in vacuum to obtain 2-(4-methoxyphenylbenzo[d]oxazole-4-carboxamide (29 mg, yield 45%). 1H-NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 3.88 (s, 3H), 7.17-7.19 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H), 7.49 (dd, 1H), 7.94-7.97 (m, 3H), 8.25-8.26 (d, J=8 Hz, 2H), 8.49 (brs, 1H); LC-MS (ESI) m/z 269 [M+1]−.
