A similar procedure as described in Example 40, step 8 was used, starting from 4-[3-{6-[3-benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-5-(propane-1-sulfonyl)-phenoxy]-hexyl}-2-(2-ethoxycarbonyl-ethyl)-phenoxy]-butyric acid ethyl ester (87 mg, 0.12 mmol) and 1.0 N aqueous sodium hydroxide (1.22 mL) to afford 4-[3-{6-[3-benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-5-(propane-1-sulfonyl)-phenoxy]-hexyl}-2-(2-carboxy-ethyl)-phenoxy]-butyric acid (46 mg, 57%) as an amorphous white solid: ES(+)-HRMS m/e calcd for C35H42O10S (M+Na)+ 677.2391, found 677.2388.
