The title compound was prepared following a procedure described in J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2007, 127, 12440-12441, starting from 2-(3-isopropenyl-phenyl)-[1,3]dioxolane and was obtained as a light yellow oil: TLC (cyclohexane-EtOAc 80:20) Rf=0.52; HPLC RtG2=1.35 min; 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 9.98 (s, 1H), 7.74 (s, 1H), 7.68 (d, 1H), 7.51 (m, 2H), 1.40 (s, 3H), 0.89 (t, 2H), 0.81 (m, 2H).
