A solution of the crude [3-chloro-6-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-7-carbonitrile (50 mg, 0.148 mmol) in morpholine (1.2 mL) was heated at 110° C. and stirred for 5 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuum, the remaining residue was suspended in water (10 mL) and extracted with AcOEt (3×5 mL). The combined organic fractions were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and evaporated to give the crude 6-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-3-morpholin-4-yl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-7-carbonitrile, which was used without further purification. MS: 374 [M+1+]; HPLC: AtRet=1.94.
