A mixture of [6-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-7-yl]-methanol (125 mg, 0.43 mmol) and MnO2 (371 mg, 4.27 mmol) in CHCl3 (2 mL) was stirred at 60° C. for 2 h, then cooled to RT and filtered through a Celite pad. The solid was washed with AcOEt and the filtrate was evaporated to dryness to give the crude title compound (104 mg, 0.36 mmol, 84%) which was used in the next step without further purification. HPLC: AtRet=1.22.
