Procedure

3.0 g of 1-(4-sulfophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone (manufactured by ALDRICH CHEMISTRY Co., Ltd.: 134163-25G), 3.4 g of methyl iodide (manufactured by KANTO CHEMICAL Co., Inc.: 10060), 100 mL of methanol were put in a high-pressure reactor, and stirred for 15 hours at 130° C. under heating. The reaction mixture was evaporated to dryness, and then recrystallized from ethanol to yield 1.4 g of a desired product.
