The title compound was prepared in accordance with the general method of Example 192(A), from 2-iodopyridine (81 mg, 0.39 mmol) and 2-(but-3-ynyl)-1-isopropyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (84 mg, 0.39 mmol). The crude residue was purified over silicagel chromatography (prepacked 5 g silicagel column, DCM/MeOH: from 100/0 to 96/4 as eluent) to afford 47 mg of 1-isopropyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)but-3-ynyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole as a light brown oil (Yield: 41%).
