The title compound was prepared in accordance with the general method of Example 108(B), from 8-chloro-2-(4-(trimethylsilyl)but-3-ynyl)-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (2.00 g, 7.22 mmol). The crude residue was taken in Et2O, filtered and concentrated to yield 1.09 mg (5.31 mmol, 74%) of 2-(but-3-ynyl)-8-chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine as a yellow solid.
