Ethyl 3-[4-(5-{3-cyano-4-[(1-methylethyl)oxy]phenyl}-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1H-indol-1-yl]propanoate (D63) (81 mg, 0.18 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol by warming to 50° C. Added 2N sodium hydroxide (0.25 ml, 0.5 mmol) followed by water (2 ml), warmed to 50° C. to give a clear solution then left standing at RT for 30 minutes. LC/MS showed a single product. The ethanol was evaporated off to obtain a precipitate which was filtered off and dried. Mass of title compound as a pale brown solid obtained was 60 mg δH (400 MHz, d6-DMSO) 1.39 (6H, d), 2.32 (2H, t), 4.39 (2H, t), 4.96-5.00 (1H, m), 7.01 (1H, d), 7.31 (1H, t), 7.56-7.61 (2H, m), 7.74 (1H, d), 7.91 (1H, d), 8.45 (1H, dd), 8.55 (1H, d). MS (ES) C23H20N4O4 requires 416; found 417 (MH+).
