Procedure
600 mg of 6-chloro-2-ethylamino 4-(4-nitrophenyl)quinoline (compound 2a) were added to 0.19 g of acetic anhydride. The mixture was boiled at 70° C. for 4 hours and cooled, and the acetic anhydride was removed by distillation. The residue was mixed with water, extracted with ethyl acetate and washed with water, and the product was obtained as a yellow oil.
