The process described in Method D was followed. 6-Chloro-1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde (0.404 g, 2.00 mmol) and sodium thiomethoxide (0.154 g, 2.20 mmol in 4 ml 1,4-dioxane) were used to obtain the title compound. The crude product was purified by washing with n-pentane.
