The unsaturated acid obtained in Step A (750 mg:2.9 mmol) is solubilized in a mixture of ethanol/dimethylformamide (20 ml:3 ml) in the reactor of a Parr apparatus. After addition of the catalyst, 10% palladium-on-carbon (75 mg; 10% by weight), the whole is stirred at ambient temperature at a pressure of 45 psi for 4 hours. The solvents are removed; the residual oil is then precipitated and washed with diethyl ether.
