Reaction Steps

To a solution of ethyl 3-{[(2R, 4R)-2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxypyrrolidin-1-yl]methyl}phenoxyacetate (353 mg) in MeOH:1,4-dioxane (1:1, 10 mL) was added 1N NaOH solution (0.744 mL) at 5° C., and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours. The reaction mixture was evaporated and Et2O was added thereto. The resulting solid was collected by filtration to give sodium 3-[(2R, 4R)-2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxypyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl]phenoxyacetate (327.7 mg).
