Reaction Steps
Using the general method of Example 1 Part D, N4-[5-(phenylthio)pentyl]quinoline-3,4-diamine (5.1 g, 15.1 mmol) was cyclized using triethyl orthoformate (2.46 g, 16.6 mmol) in the presence of a catalytic amount of pyridine hydrochloride to provide 1-[5-(phenylthio)pentyl]-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinoline as a yellow solid.
