Following General Procedure BF above, and using 3,5-dichlorophenylacetic acid (from Example BC above) and L-alanine iso-butyl ester hydrochloride (from Example BB above), the title compound was prepared as a solid having a melting point of 115°-116° C. The reaction was monitored by tlc on silica gel (Rf=0.40 in 3% methanou/dichloromethane) and purification was by flash chromatography on silica gel using 3% methanol/dichloromethane as the eluant.
