Reaction Steps
Sodium bicarbonate (1.04 g) was added to a solution of 7-[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid hydrochloride (syn isomer, 2.6 g.) in water (100 ml.) under ice-cooling and stirred at room temperature. The resultant solution was lyophilized to give sodium 7-[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-cephem-4-carboxylate (syn isomer).
