Procedure
40.95 g of 2-[2,3-epoxy-propoxy]-9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethano-anthracene and 48 ml of isopropylamine are dissolved in 700 ml of absolute alcohol and the solution is boiled for 20 hours under reflux. The reaction mixture is then evaporated to dryness and the residue is recrystallised from 180 ml of toluene. 2-[2-Hydroxy-3-isopropylamino-propoxy]-9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethano-anthracene thus obtained, melts at 126°-127° C.
