A 30% hydrogen bromide/acetic acid solution (0.64 mL, 3.29 mmol) was added to a solution of ethyl 2-[3-({[(benzyloxy)carbonyl]amino}methyl)azetidin-1-yl]-4-methyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate obtained in Example (233b) (128 mg, 0.33 mmol) in acetic acid (1 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 100 minutes. A 1 N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution was added to the reaction solution, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and filtered. Thereafter, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 51 mg of the title compound as a colorless oily substance (61%).
