Reaction Steps
As in Example 3a 2.98 g (10 mmol) of 2a and 1.65 g (11 mol) of piperonal give, after column chromatography [silica gel; dichloromethane/ethyl acetate mixtures], 1.22 g (27%) of yellow oil.
