Procedure

2.2 g. of 1-phenyl-2-imino-3-methyl-4-oxoimidazolidine, 0.26 g. of sodium methoxide and 65 ml. of absolute alcohol were heated to reflux for 20 hours. The insoluble solid was filtered and ethanol was evaporated leaving a yellow solid.
