Reaction Steps
To a solution of 0.8 g of 5-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-3-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-1-methyl 1H-1,2,4-triazole in 10 ml of DMF at room temperature were added 0.4 g of anhydrous potassium carbonate and 0.63 g of 2,3-dichioro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine and then the suspension solution was heated to 70° C. or 1 hour. After cooling, the reaction mixture was poured into iced water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate layer was washed with water, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to silica gel chromatography to afford 0.55 g of 5-(4-(3-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yloxy)-benzyl)-3-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-1-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole.
