The product obtained by reducing 0.489 g of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-4-bromo-7-(o-benzyloxyphenyl)-5-heptanolide with 1.34 g of the tri-n-butyltin hydride in 4 ml of anhydrous tetrahydrofuran according to the method described in Example 2 (a), was purified by a thin layer chromatography affording 0.300 g of the desired compound as an oily substance.
