Intermediate C (1 mmol, 269 mg) in ethylenediamine (10 mmol, 600 mg, 0.7 mL) was heated at 120° C. in a microwave for 3 h. The reaction was evaporated, taken up in EtOAc and washed 3× with water, then dried with MgSO4 and evaporated to give (R)-2-(2-aminoethylamino)-7-ethyl-8-isopropyl-5-methyl-7,8-dihydropteridin-6(5H)-one (compound I-246).
