Procedure

A solution of N-(2-aminopyridin-4-yl)-2,6-dichlorobenzamide (1.41 g, 5 mmol) and 3-oxabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-2,4-dione (2.24 g, 20 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (25 mL) was heated at 90° C. for 4 hours. The reaction was cooled to room temperature and the precipitated white solid was collected by filtration to give 2,6-dichloro-N-(2-(−2,4-dioxo-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexan-3-yl)pyridin-4-yl)benzamide (1.28 g, yield: 68%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 11.42 (s, 1H), 8.47 (d, J=5.6 Hz, 1H), 7.69 (d, J=1.8 Hz, 1H), 7.67-7.59 (m, 3H), 7.55 (dd, J=9.2, 6.8 Hz, 1H), 2.74 (dd, J=8.0, 3.6 Hz, 2H), 1.69 (ddt, J=20.6, 8.1, 4.2 Hz, 2H). LCMS (ESI) m/z: 376.0 [M+H+].
