To a solution of 1-(4-methyl-1-(6-methylpyrimidin-4-yl)piperidin-4-yl)thiourea (1.28 g, 4.82 mmol) in EtOH (11.7 mL) was added MeI (332 L, 5.31 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred under Argon at 75° C. for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was then evaporated and the residue (white foam) stirred with diethylether (15 mL) at room temperature for 1 hour. The solid was then washed with diethylether and dried to afford the title compound (1.89 g, 96%) as a white solid. MS ISP (m/e): 190.3 [(M+H)+].
