Reaction Steps
4-Amino-2-phenylmorpholin-3-one (175 mg, 910 μmol) and cyanamide (230 mg, 179 μL, 5.46 mmol) were dissolved in ethanol (4 mL). p-Toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (260 mg, 209 μL, 1.37 mmol) was added and the mixture was heated under reflux at 80° C. for 24 hours. After cooling to room temperature, triethylamine (461 mg, 634 μL, 4.55 mmol) was added and the mixture was heated under reflux at 80° C. for 3 days.
