The resulting crystal was filtered and washed with acetone. 0.2 L of water and 1 L of acetic acid were added and stirred. The resulting crystal was filtered and washed with acetone, and then dried at 60° C. to obtain 1,056 g of metformin acetate (yield: 92.4%).
