Tert-butyl 2-(4-(4-((4-chlorophenethyl)carbamoyl)phenoxy)phenyl)acetate (20 mg, 0.043 mmol) was diluted with DCM (1 mL) followed by the addition of TFA (1 mL). After stirring for 2 hours, the reaction was concentrated, diluted with ether and concentrated to yield 2-(4-(4-((4-chlorophenethyl)carbamoyl)phenoxy)phenyl)acetic acid (17 mg, 97% yield) as a white solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3Cl3, CD3OD) 7.70 (d, 2H), 7.30 (m, 4H), 7.19 (m, 2H), 7.00 (m, 4H), 3.62 (m, 4H), 2.90 (t, 2H).
