To a hot solution (70° C.) of (R*)-3-{1-[(S)-1-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[1,4]dioxin-2-yl)methyl]piperidin-3-yl}phenol (10 g, 30.7 mmol) in dry isopropyl alcohol (75 ml) a heated solution (70° C.) of oxalic acid (2.77 g, 30.7 mmol) in dry isopropyl alcohol (25 ml) was added. Precipitation was occurred and the mixture was heated up to 80° C. After one hour stirring it was slowly cooled to room temperature and stirred over night. The mixture was cooled to 0° C., stirred for two hours and the precipitate was filtered to give 11.76 g of the desired salt.
