2-Aminoethanol (18 μL, 0.30 mmol) was added to a solution of ethanol (0.7 mL) containing (4Z)-4-(4-chlorobenzylidene)-2-{-4-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethoxy]phenyl}-1,3-oxazol-5(4H)-one prepared in Example 1 (1c) (108 mg, 0.25 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 3 hours. The solvent was evaporated, and the residue was purified by thin layer chromatography for separation (ethyl acetate:methanol, 30:1, v/v, developed three times) to give 88 mg of the title compound (white amorphous solid, yield: 71%).
