2-Aminoethanol (20 μL, 0.33 mmol) was added to a solution of ethanol (1.6 mL) containing (4Z)-4-(4-cyclopropylbenzylidene)-2-[4-(2-cyclopropylethoxy)phenyl]-1,3-oxazol-5(4H)-one (95 mg, 0.25 mmol) prepared in Example 9 (9c). The mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 1 hour, and then the solvent was removed. The residue was washed with hexane:ethyl acetate (3:1, v/v). The precipitate was collected by filtration and dried under reduced pressure to give 95 mg of the title compound (white powder, yield: 86%).
