1-[6-bromo-2-(4-fluorophenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl]-2-propyn-1-ol (2 g, 5.8 mmoles) was treated with manganese(VI)oxide in a similar manner as described in Example 2 to give, after filtration and silica gel chromatogaphy (2% methanol in dichloromethane), 1-[6-bromo-2-(4-fluorophenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl]-2-propyn-1-one (1.2 g, 60%) as a solid. 1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 9.94 (s, 1H), 7.75 (m, 4H), 7.22 (t, 2H), 2.94 (s, 1H); 19F NMR (CDCl3) δ −111.3.
