Reaction Steps
To a solution of ethyl (1S,3S,4R)-2-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-3-carboxylate obtained in Example 5-1 (2.44 g) in dimethyl sulfoxide (12 mL) and water (1.5 mL), was added N-iodosuccinimide (2.06 g). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes.
