Procedure
To a solution of 2-tert-butyl 3-methyl (1R,3S,4R,6R)-6-amino-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylate obtained in Example 29-3 (155 mg) in methanol (10 mL), was added acetic anhydride (30 mg). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The resulting mixture was evaporated in vacuo and chromatographed on silica gel eluting with chloroform and methanol (19:1) to give the target compound (153 mg).
