Reaction Steps
A mixture of 6-benzyloxy-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one (Example 9) (0.12 g; 0.5 mmol), K2CO3 (0.07 g; 0.5 mmol) and CH3I (0.031 ml) in acetone (5 ml) was refluxed under argon atmosphere for 6 hours. After evaporation to dryness, the residue was purified by flash chromatography eluting with petroleum ether/AcOEt 60/40 to give 6-benzyloxy-N-methyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one.
